Søren Bay, DFF

Søren Bay DFF initially trained as a stills photographer but soon realized he wanted to work with moving images. After gaining experience as a gaffer, he was accepted into the prestigious National Film and Television School in London, where he graduated with a Master's in Cinematography in 1997. Since then, Søren has served as a Director of Photography on numerous successful film and television projects in the UK and internationally.

He is deeply engaged in the filmmaking process. He says, "It is extraordinary when an audience is captivated by a universe you have helped create." Søren believes thorough preparation and close collaboration with other film departments are essential for success. He notes, "Film is a very complex and vulnerable entity, and the more prepared you are, the freer you are to work with the material. I trust my intuition and don't shy away from taking chances." This approach has led to some remarkable and original filmmaking, which he is incredibly proud to have contributed to.
